Yay! Josephine was interested in learning some new songs today - she hasn't been interested in learning anything new in a while and I wasn't going to push it! Over the past few months, she's learned how to play and memorized "twinkle, twinkle, little star," "Happy Birthday to you," "Jingle Bells," "When the saints go marching in," and "Mary had a little lamb." She's been playing them over and over and over... I'm glad she's playing those songs, but I'm so very thrilled she finally want so learn some new ones. There's an option to put video w/sound on my blog, but I haven't figured out how to downsize the video enough to upload it onto the internet... if anyone knows how to do this, let me know!
I wanted to take a picture of the crafts we did today - they both chose Christmas crafts - Whatever - if that's what they wanted to do! Anyhow, Maureen didn't smile in the first picture, so Josephine said she would try to get her to smile if I took it again... see picture below :)

Josephine posing pretty for her picture w/ the Christmas bell craft she did (100% on her own!) She's gotten very good w/ her cutting skills!

Veronica's been eating solid foods for a while now (she's had all the veggies, fruits, cereals and just recently started meats). I just realized today I haven't taken a picture of her yet eating in the high chair!
I have the same exact picture of Josephine and Maureen doing this very same thing! Except I think Josephine's picture was of her sitting next to an empty box of Kleenex w/ tissue paper every where around her. Veronica seems proud of her accomplishment!

Maureen had her Dr.'s appt. today - it was a different doctor from the one she saw back in November... I love the new doctor, the staff and the office - everyone was nice, the doctor was very friendly to the kids and I, and the waiting room & individual patient's rooms were clean and very "kid friendly." Maureen's iron is up to 10.7 (normal is 11+). I was SOOO happy to hear that! The doctor said to continue the iron supplement for 2-4 more months and he wanted her to come back in another month to check her iron level again. He also recommended that I make an appt. for Josephine to make sure she's up to date on all of her immunizations and just to get a well-check up. I took Josephine and Maureen for their well-check up at the end of last year, but I don't completely trust the other doctor they saw, so I don't mind doing it all over again! Maureen weighs 27 1/2 lbs. (up from 24 lbs. in Dec./Jan.), Veronica weighs 21 lbs., and Josephine weighs 37 lbs.! I didn't think Josephine would ever make it past 30-33 lbs.!

Well, I have no pictures for today. Maybe in a couple days. I'm off to fold some laundry!

She's just learned how to go from a sitting position to a crawling position. She pretty much stays put once she gets on all fours, but I'm sure she's not far from figuring out how to crawl!
Her other bottom, front tooth came through the gums a few days ago, too. So now she has two teeth!

I was able to snap a picture of Maureen's first smiley face (in yellow chalk). She was so proud of herself (so was I!). She also drew her first letter - an uppercase 'T' - after me showing her how to do it just one time!

Josephine and Maureen posing next to their beautiful pictures :) Maureen's 'T' is the light pink line going straight down (passed the right side of Josephine's drawing) w/ a couple lines going accross the top. I thought that was pretty good for a 2 year old! Oh - she has a Doctor's appt. on Thurs. - she will get her blood iron level checked then. I will post the results after Thurs. when I get a chance.
She's pulling herself up onto her knees, sometimes using the TV, the coffee table, her crib or the side of the bathtub (when she's trying to watch Josephine and Maureen take their baths).

Josephine BEGGED me for the pink poodle/dog stuffed animal when we were at Walmart a couple weeks ago. After telling her "no" about 50 times, I finally had to take it from her and put it back on the shelf. Anyhow, she was very happy to get it on Valentine's day!

Josephine and Maureen each got a card, candy and a stuffed animal (2 small ones for Josephine, and an obviously large one for Maureen).

Happy Valentine's Day! My dear husband bought me some beautiful roses for Valentine's day - don't they look pretty in the vase he made last semester? I purposely cropped out my face - I didn't like the picture of myself! The girls got some candy and stuffed animals, too - will post a picture of that tomorrow...

One of Veronica's bottom teeth popped through the gum today - finally! She has learned to pull herself up from a sitting position on to her knees, too (while holding on to something). She did it today for the first time, and immediately after doing it the first time, repeated it about ten times in a row!

Well, it looks like Veronica will FINALLY be getting some teeth any day now... you can see her two bottom teeth just barely covered by the gums. She's 7 and 1/2 months old and just now getting her first teeth!

We're doing pretty good here. Josephine has another playdate this friday w/ one of her classmates from CCD class. It's w/ a little boy (5 yo) and his younger brother (2 yo), same ages and Josephine and Maureen. They had their first playdate two fridays ago, and it worked out great.

Michael is very busy and hard at work w/ school... he's got tons of reading, drawing and painting to do. Most of the time he is at the college doing his work. He seems to be enjoying his teaching assistantship job, too... The girls like it when he can watch them while I teach piano, as they get a couple hours of "Daddy time."

I don't have any pictures today - Michael has had the camera at school, so I haven't taken any. The van is at an auto repair shop for today and tomorrow - I hope this new mechanic is honest and knows what he's doing. I've had enough of incompetent mechanics for a lifetime!

Well, I'm off to bed!

Man! I must try harder to do this more regularly! Veronica has been waking up a lot lately after I have put her down for the night... consequently, when I get her to go back to sleep, I end up going to sleep too! My time for checking my e-mail and posting on the blog is after kids are in bed...

Anyhow, I will try to keep this short. Hopefully Veronica won't wake up before I'm done! We had a wonderful visit with my parents - they came up to visit us for a few days. It was like a second Christmas - they brought us all of our gifts which we would have gotten at the end of Dec. if our van didn't break down. The kids are having a blast with their new toys.

Josephine is halfway finished w/ 1st grade - I can't believe it! She has made A's in all of her subjects in the 1st and 2nd quarter. I'm very proud of her. Her behavior isn't always an 'A', but we're working on it! She can be a real sweetheart when she wants to be! I have to constantly remind myself "she's only 5 years old!" ... she's so smart, but her maturity level/ attention span is quite normal!

Maureen is making her dolls go "night, night."

Veronica seems to like books, too - just like her two older sisters!

We read a poem by Robert L. Stevenson a few days ago, and the illustrations in the book showed a little girl having an old-fashioned tea party w/ her baby dolls. Josephine just had to set up her own tea party, just like the girl in the picture!

Fashionable little girls, aren't they?
